Paris Hilton

Paris Hilton is an American socialite who is heiress to the vast fortune from the international Hilton Hotels. She has been controversial, idolised, and even put into prison for driving offences, as well as arrested for cocaine possession.

Growing Up

Paris was born in 1981 in New York City, the eldest of 4 children. She grew up in extravagant surroundings, and attended a series of prestigious schools, eventually getting expelled from one and then dropped out of another. Nicole Richie and Kim Kardashian were her childhood friends.

Finding Fame

At the age of 19, Paris joined Donald Trump's modelling agency, having been a child model from an early age. She enjoyed glamorous parties and caught the attention of the tabloids, becoming known as a socialite, at first in New York, then nationally. She became a household name after an incident with a now infamous sex tape with her former boyfriend Rick Salomon, which was leaked onto the internet.

Career

Paris has worked as a model, taken up acting, starred in her own reality TV shows, in TV advertisements and she has even tried her hand as a singer. The impression she has deliberately portrayed in public as a “sweet blonde thing” with a high pitched voice apparently masks what appears to be a rather shrewd business brain. She has successfully released perfumes, a footwear collection, a dog apparel collection and a record label, “Heiress Records”. She has several stores across the world selling her perfume and clothing, and has even helped design part of a luxury hotel resort.

Interests and Hobbies

Paris is passionate about animals, and has many pets, especially small dogs like chihuahuas and Yorkshire terriers. One of her dogs, Tinkerbell, has even had an autobiography published!

Paris's size 11 feet means that all her designer shoes have to be specially made for her. Paris is a Roman Catholic, and regularly attends Mass. She is reported to have said she was as iconic as Princess Diana and Marilyn Monroe, although she denies this.
